Hello Patti, I’m very interested in having my DNA tested as my mother’s grandmother was a Sackett
From Michigan, I was born in Canada, but I currently live in New Haven county Connecticut
Hello, Carrol. The Sackett DNA project is limited to the DNA test that compares the Y chromosome of male-line Sacketts. But the usual DNA test offered evaluates autosomal DNA and is helpful to anyone for all their genealogical lines. Your lineage is well documented and it does not appear to be needed to establish your Sackett ancestry. If you are interested, I recommend taking the test that Ancestry.com offers although you have to have an ongoing subscription to take advantage of the cousin matching. Companies such as FamilyTreeDNA, 23andMe, and MyHeritage providing greater capabilities in identifying shared segments with cousins. 23andMe and MyHeritage require extra payments to fully utilize their tools. It all depends on how much you want to do. It is helpful for other people to match those whose lineages are well documented.

Thank you, Patti. I have done the ancestry.com and that was probably 20 years ago so I need to look up that information again and then follow through as you said.
I also would like to become a member of Sackett family Association.
